FIELD: mechanical engineering; two-stroke internal combustion piston engines.
SUBSTANCE: one cylinder of engine houses two double-acting pistons with two crankshafts mechanically coupled by pair of gears. Crankshaft and piston are connected by coupling member arranged in piston slot and enclosing crankpin of crankshaft with piston crowns pointed to each other forming combustion chamber, and opposite crowns, scavenging part. Engine has pistons in which slot for accommodating coupling member is made at angle of 80 degrees to piston axis (inclined slot). Diameter of scavenging parts of cylinder exceeds that of cylinder working part to improve cleaning of cylinder or building up gauge pressure. As a result nonuniformity of piston reciprocation is increased so that piston stops at end of compression stroke and end of working stroke in TDC earlier than center of crankpin intersects cylinder axis. This peculiarity of piston kinematics is used for organization of mixing and combustion of main part of fuel in designed volume of combustion chamber, for improving cylinder scavenging and filling it with fresh charge of air during relative smaller stroke of pistons. Difference in diameters of cylinder in its working and scavenging parts improves scavenging and supercharging of engine.
EFFECT: enhanced engine operation.
